December 25th fireplace dressed in black and white

We waited patiently for this time of the year

and now it's here.

The world begins to look extra beautiful at Christmastime:

a

sea of Christmas trees that take our breath away,

darkness replaced with strings of lights

and

reindeers appearing indoor and outdoor.

Christmas calls for that RED ornament,

pinecones, pinecones and pinecones ,

and

a decorated wreath on every door.

There is no doubt,

this is the best time of the year.

It's Joy to the World !

Take another sip of coffee

keep  strolling

and

enjoy a peek of my decorated mantle.

It's  beginning  to feel a lot like Christmas.

Who's  ready?

Happy holidays!

Create the fall vignette of your dream

They just steal my heart.

I tried to wait for the winter to show off my pinecones
but
I couldn't.

I decided to go for it NOW!

I love playing around with these pinecones, knowing evidently they'll land in the right spot.
This is how I decked out my side table.

You gotta love it as much as I do.
Simple
Inexpensive

Here's what happens when you are inspired  by pinecones.

Fall table

First things first,
Bless all who gather here!

Do you know how much thought was put into this tablescape?

traditional versus non-traditional decor

casual versus elegant

natural versus candles

cake plate versus woven basket

tablecloth versus table runner

Decision,  decision,  decision !

Let's just do it....I'm not going to over think.

For my centerpiece,
I envisioned a woven basket filled with pinecones
 and
 several faux glass fillers to
add personality to the  table.

I thought of how much style my tablecloth
purchased from HomeGoods would bring as a runner.
I don't usually go this bright but I'm in
love with the color.

I feel fortune to find the logs at Joann's on the clearance aisle.
All you thrifty hunters, they were priced right

and

it was the right day to take a picture.

Simple fall touches

Bidding summer goodbye.....

Knowing that crisp mornings,  trees modeling their new look, crunchy leaves
replacing green grass,
and
shorter days await me,
how can I not be happy!

It will be hard to overlook the great color palette,
breath-taking shades of gorgeous reds, oranges and yellows.

There is beauty wherever I focus my eyes.

Another reason I'm in love with fall, it's an excuse to replace a summer look with layers of
 fallish decor.

Although I am inspired by the many fall colors,
this year I'm choosing a softer palette for my table.

The table runner
 is a thrift find
that is draped to the floor.

  It's not the typical runner
 but
it is the one that has an impact.

Take a look,
 a centerpiece with a
driftwood garland and a couple of pumpkins
 and
a couple of pinecones.

Bless all who gather here!

There is no other way to say it, but fall is filled with beauty.  Enjoy the view.
Thanks for stopping by.

Shopping the clearance aisle

Happy summer morning!

Are you waking up to another hot summer morning?   You're not  alone.

but,

I'm so glad you're here because I wanted to show you my treasures.

 I believe

that clearance merchandise
can be another person treasure
and

I practice

what I preach.

Here's a rose for you Houz friends.

This is it, a short version of my urge to
make a change with a treasure or two.

I must pause for a moment and smell the rose.

This is how it all began.
First,
I started second guessing myself.
Where do I begin?

Why am I stressed?
There is nothing in my storage bins
that don't compliment my style.
That's how I shop.
Driftwood garland
Candle holder
Serving  tray
All clearance  merchandise. ...

.

 Then,

I remembered
 I spotted this sign
back in the spring and
purchased it for the future.  The future is here...
and the styling began....

Heat and humidity bring out the lazy side of me.
Stay cool and enjoy the view.

Don't  forget your rose.

Those summer flowers

Happiness is enjoying a slice of summer.

Hello sunshine!

This is what landed in my shopping cart on this hot summer day, another bunch of fresh flowers.  Did I purchase them? Yes, yes, yes I did.

When I think of summer decor, fresh flowers immediately pop in my mind. To me, it's another way of adding fragrance and a simple touch of summer in my home.

I place them in a vase and allow the petals to fall where they may.

See how beautiful they are, a unique shade of white against my ivory bowl and housed by a thrifty find, my pitcher?  I love the look!

This is why I feel sooo guilty if I don't at least take a peek in the floral section.

A Michael finds. Love my rope spool.

Storage boxes are visible in every room.
I can't imagine my home without  them.

I love showing my @ sign any season.
I just pair it with the seasonal décor and it speaks beauty.

Stay cool.
 Wishing you a great summer.
I so thankful for you stopping  by.
