Moments with mom. The color yellow

I have a super mom to tell you about!

I must admit, she was awesome.

She  loved all ten of us unconditionally.
She spent quality time with each of us recognizing our individual strengths and areas of need.

Her hugs, her kisses, her love
are all memories we continue to treasure.
Mom always shared!

To know mom is knowing her children, her grands and great grands.
A piece of her lives on in each of us.

She deserves recognition.
Being a Mom of ten, which included 2 sets of twins,
 she loved her job
and
exceeded all expectations of motherhood.

She wasn't  selfish
She wasn't abusive
All that unconditional love!
She provided us with a safe haven.

Being a mom of ten, she had the skills:

Time management
Organizational
Communication
Listening
Motivational
Leadership
and
Multi-tasking

I remember the color yellow.
It was her inspiration  for styling our 4 bedroom home.
She had an eye for design.

I remember the times we gathered
 as she played the piano.

Our yard was surrounded with pecan
 and
 crepe myrtle trees.
Her favorite annual flower was Zinnias.

My mother's day tablescape is a tribute to our "MOM"

That's our mom.

I'm sure I left out something.

Before I forget,
we lived in a white house in DC.
 (Duplin County)

Mom thanks for being you.

Happy Mother Day to all you moms!

Adding extra flair to serving cart

Do you have that one purchase
that has never served its purpose?

Although it's  labeled as outdoor use,
my serving cart has never spent a second on my deck

The question of today, is it serving its purpose?

If it makes you smile, it's serving its purpose.

My cart has traveled throughout my home.
It's as though we have a special relationship,

you lead the way and I will follow.
I love to create vignette.

Soon we will experience another season change
and I'll frequently
say,
grab a glass of cold sweet tea.

Until then,
grab a cup of coffee
and
let's check out this cart.

You'll find flowering dogwood branches,

Allow me to pat myself on the back:
when the blooms died, I was able to use the greenery in another photo.

You'll  find fresh flowers
 a must have.

It's obvious I love a decorative box just as much
as a decorative pillow or two.
They are just a part of my unique style.

Celebrating my style with a smile.
As always, my pleasure to meet again.

Tablescape that screams spring

Very few things can top the
instant inspiration  as a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Yes, yes, yes,
I really enjoy starting my day with a simply thought of a change in my home, like moving a pillow
 from one chair
to another
or changing candlesticks.

Maybe I'm addicted  to changes,
 but
I do know how amazing it is everyday I get to choose.

Something as simple as should I take the indoor outdoor
 or
outdoor indoor or what color scheme.

Today, it's indoor living in my kitchen.
This is where my day begins.
  It's a showstopper every morning.
Coffee and me and my blush pink.

I had a vision for my table that would suit
either
outdoor or indoor, except my runner was not outdoor
material  and it would only be a short stay outside...

My recent purchase of these colorful bottles
from Targets is such a lovely centerpiece
 and
 how they scream spring.

Guess I grab a cup of coffee and enjoy my indoor living.

Thanks for joining me!

  Hope you were inspired.
Love the company.

Spring Around The Fireplace

Hello Houz friends,
What would you think if I told you
 springtime makes me smile.

Do I see a smile?

I am one of those with a lot of nervous energy
and spring is the season for someone like me.

I have the option to work indoors or outdoors.

It feels so good to add color,
 remove heavy coverings
and add a few sprigs of flowers throughout my home.

OMG,

How I love fresh flowers and plants, and shrubbery, and ground coverings.
Did I miss anything?

I love to decorate  with candlesticks,
so I am using several  I purchased at the end of the winter season.

I love pillows,
I love black and white
 and with a little color.

Not only am I  sharing my spring fireplace, I am sharing a secret.
Don't  tell!
I feel confident that you can keep a secret.  Right?
These sprigs are not from my yard.
I only have dogwood trees in bloom.
But,
today, I build up enough nerve to ask for a few clippings ...
It was easier than I thought.
I smiled all the way home thinking of the possibilities
 and
 inspiration.

I styled, stood back for a view, edited and admired and waited for the sunshine to peek through  the windows.

Welcome to my
spring styled fireplace.

Keep smiling as you do the things you enjoy this season.

Thank you for stopping by.

Love Day

But the greatest of these is LOVE.

I'm  so excited...
You are here!

Happy Valentine's!

I'm  in love.

I love candlesticks

I rounded up all the candlesticks
I purchased
this year for this special day.

They are my inspiration.

Not to mention that each one was discounted at 90%.

I searched high and low for pink décor.
I knew I wanted to add shades of pink .

 Just

a pop,

 not a lot.

When I spotted these pink placements,
 I  glanced but kept stepping.

Just couldn't see my table with fuchsia  placements.

Well, I kept stepping until I returned back to that aisle.

My thought was I like the color.

Why not give them a home.

I immediately began to think outside the box.

They look great as rolled napkins.

It's therapy  to decorate
with things you love.

That's what this short month is all about,

Love

  It's frequently referenced as the
 LOVE
month.

Wishing you an awesome Valentine's Day.
