Cozy winter

Just how gorgeous is winter when snow blankets the world.
So beautiful....

Who knew we would begin 2018 with extremely cold weather.
I can't say I'm sad because it's extremely cold here, 13 degrees, and I'm home having time to declutter and organize.
Remember,
tis the season for cold weather.

I am just grateful for a warm and cozy spot at home. I am thankful that I can count my blessings and try not to complain.
The school system was closed and I didn't have to leave my warm spot to pick up my grand. It's
all God's will...

I know I'm not the first to say, Christmas is all stacked away and its time to enjoy the winter season.
I thought of continuing with a little coziness. The white faux fur throw adds a winter touch.
It's great to have nearby while sipping coffee.

Every sofa loves a few pillows.
I wanted winter touches to reflect the outside.

I thought why not keep a little greenery around, especially since I just purchased it:
80% clearance.
Just wanted to share more thrifty finds.
Feel free to crush on my white houses.

They add drama to any spot.

These gift bags from Target's 90% clearance make
  great napkin holders.

I brought all sizes.
They came in white with green ribbon also.

I always pick out things
I love @Target and wait for clearance time.

What better way to use ribbon than tie flatware?

Wishing you safe and warm days.
Spring is coming.

Until the next time,
Enjoy the moment.

Winter decor

Something about that white stuff inspires me!

It's the view .... everything so fresh, so white, so clean and so pure.

These snow days motivated me to "let it go" wishing for an early spring, or a temp of at least 40 degrees,  but to relax and enjoy the moment.

So my version

relaxation and moments of enjoyment .... simple changes in my home.

I begun adorning my trunk with a wintry setting.

It started with a switcheroo as I hummed "let it  go, let it go, let it go".  Feel free to hum along!

It took me a while to complete this simple winter scene as my initial thought was to showcase my furry throw I purchased for the winter.

here it is,

my trunk,

Simple but yet so beautiful.

My trunk is the perfect space to adorn.  I love it because it can be done with just a few items.

Pine cones make a great statement. I purchased several bags and they have been well used from  fall to winter.

The frosted candle holders and snowflake candles compliment each other and reflect a perfect winter scene.

When I saw this sign, it screamed "take me home, I'll be that conversational piece for you".

The bottle brush tree loves its new home.
My most recent find.

I purchased these boxes several years ago from Michael's and HomeGoods.  Great choices.

Today, the sun is shinning and I am so thankful we didn't lose power.

 Warm wishes!

 TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods.

"Baby, it's cold outside"
"Naughty is the new Nice"

These mercury glass candle holders are
perfect for the mugs.

There is more....

This candle holder screamed take me home...
"It's Winter Time"

Do you use pine cones from fall to winter?
Well, I am not alone.
Very festive for the season.

Being "nice" is a habit.

Winters are meant to enjoy?
Happy Winter

appreciating winter beauty

Got the winter blues or the winter spirit?

Have you ever thought about what life would be like without the winter season?

No boots...love my boots

I must admit I love the cold weather and a snow day, but I don't like being confined to the house.  On the flip side, I have the opportunity to organize, donate and purge.  I call it winter cleaning or should I say having the winter spirit.

Here in NC, one week can be below or at freezing temps and the following week may be a few spring like days.

My take of winter starts with color

white

then

silver

then

shades of blue.

and

I love simplicity and clean lines... that's winter beauty .

Just imagine what's missing without the winter season!

longer nights which can mean more family time/activities and/or enjoying your coffee indoor

Loving a winter wonderland.

season to snuggle up with favorite blanket and pillow

you and your favorite book by the fire

a soothing retreat with a fireplace

Winter is a wonderful and most definitely a memorable season of the year with the fresh snow flakes and trees loaded with ice.

Enjoy the remaining days of winter
and thanks for spending time at the Houz.
