A peek into my garden

Good morning and welcome to my passion!
(I'm dedicating this post in remembrance of my mom ,,,
Her date of birth...July 25th.  This was her passion also).

As a plant lover, I enjoy my solo morning stroll thru my garden. Well, maybe it's not a solo stroll as I am accompanied by the birds singing, butterflies sightseeing and enjoying my butterfly plants/flowers and joggers taking a peek as they jog by.

My itching green thumb has been at work.  I love the feel of the soil, I love shopping for flowers/plants, dividing plants and I also love sharing with admirers.  Most of all, I welcome the opportunity to showcase my garden.

So come along and take a stroll with me this morning. It's hot and humid, but all you need is your coffee or juice. I'm confident you will enjoy the tour.

My garden highlights .... Let the show begin!

Summer, Time for Relaxation

It's the first day of summer and I wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable summer!   However, I  am calling it the first day of relaxation.

We labored during the spring just for this season........spreading bags of mulch in the flower beds, more than one visit to local nurseries and home improvement stores, manicuring the lawn,  power washing the deck, and giving the lawn chairs a face lift.  Did I mention the backache from weeding?  The beauty we have now outweighs the spring labor.

Why not spend a portion of your summer enjoying the results of your hard labor.   It's summertime.!!!  It's relaxing time!!!

Enjoy your summer and be safe!
Thanks for stopping by.

If Driveways Could Talk

Driveways/walkways are complimentary to your home. What impression does your driveway have on your home? Is your entrance breathtaking?
Five (5) Tips to MAKE SURE the entrance to your home is impressive.
  1. Make sure the walkway is not covered with debris – leaves or pine straw
  2. Make sure there is no grass growing up through cracks
  3. Make sure the driveway is clear of children toy, bicycles
  4. Make sure it is a safe and comfort walkway, no cracks or holes
  5. Make sure you install solar lights for beautification and safety

Garden Finds

Just proud of my many thrift finds at Lowes Home Improvement in what I called their "TLC" department.  All these plants needed ... a home and a little TLC.  The cost was between 25 cents and one dollar.

Rose of Sharon is from a girlfriend's backyard at no cost.  Just friendship.  Planted last fall and see what summer of 2011 displays.
