Summer grabs

This is absolutely my favorite
 window in my entire house.

It's the perfect peek to my backyard garden.

flowers blushing,  flowering trees,
some filled to the maximum with
green leaves and hosta galore.

 Have you ever heard of
someone stalking their own yard?

Please say you are guilty.

I am all about a little alone time
 to reflect on my surroundings
 and
 focus on the importance of
working with women of
all ages in a church setting.

Also, how grateful others are for volunteers.
It's soooo rewarding.
 It's a win,  win situation.

Summer is also bursting inside.
I fell in love with this scarf
 knowing
it would make a beautiful table runner.

Oh, there is a little drama going on
 don't you think?

There is nothing wrong
 with
 pleasure in a bargain find.

and

Oh my
the blue.

I added the pop of blue.

Anytime I see a bargain, I am going to scoop it up.

I have a soft spot for scarves.

How gorgeous is the runner draped on the chair.
Can't stop admiring the wide stripes.

The runner ties everything together.

So many grabs, I can't wait to scoop up more.

I wanted my napkins to be a simple display.

Another peek

Enjoy the moment.

Until the next time,

reflective of the season....my porch

Welcome to the entrance of my home

....my front porch

 It's winter,

and

the countdown to spring is on.

I love it when mother nature gives me a spring day in mid winter..  a sunny 60 degrees day.

You know me, I have to find outdoor activities: ...it's a perfect day  for winter sprucing of the porch and it's a perfect day for porch sitting.

These mild temps make me appreciate my porch even more, a cozy and relaxing extension of my home.

Here is my winter style:

Lets sip and chat for a while.
coffee or tea?

Check out how my red pillow compliments the rocker;  such an inviting combination.

What a beauty to greet my guest.

If you look closer, you may see my reflection and the grand's trampoline.

That's the joy of being a Mi Mi!

Wreath is from Michael's year end Christmas sale for just $2.00. The  berries and pine cones are a perfect addition for a winter look.  What a deal. Thank you Michael's.

This is just what I needed.

The coca cola crate is a great ideal for my pine cones, mini lite tree and lantern.  Did you notice the stand is another crate?

The rockers are my porch's best friend.  A spot for me to escape and relax.

A must have ... a red lantern. This style is a cozy one.
Can you guess what lies inside the lantern?

A view without trampoline .. .. love, love my wreath

This sign fits all seasons and all occasions.  a year round decor.

I hope you enjoyed the chat as much as I enjoyed the company.

Autumn Inspiration

Thanks for stopping by the houz....

While you are here, let me share a little secret with you.  I must admit:

I love dressing my home with thrifty finds

and

I love creating pretty vignettes

and

I love sharing and inspiring others

and

I love shopping

Here's a sneak view:

In love with my artwork...
50% discount and canvas

It's so rewarding to find something used. I stumbled upon these dried flowers at the Durham Rescue Mission that appeared to be unused.
Great find, right?

Something new and discounted....

 It's happens often: another bargain.

Something unexpected...
Admire the pencil from Home Goods for $1.00.   Just a little extra touch.

Maybe I should become a personal shopper.
Have a great fall.

What Motivates You to Seek Bargains?

Shop today for your desires of tomorrow. .....

Every shopping trip may not encounter a bargain just for you. You may find some times you will only do window shopping. I don't buy just because it's a sale, my purchases are purpose driven. A clutter environment is not for me.

So often I may call a friend or family member when I see a bargain that may be of interest to them or a simple send them a picture of the item. There is no need of buying something if you can't use it.

Step back for a moment and visualize where the merchandise will fit in your home or if you can even wear it. If it's a thrifty find you just can't resist, buy it and donate to a local charity. There are so many others that can benefit from your thrifty finds.

Garden Finds

Just proud of my many thrift finds at Lowes Home Improvement in what I called their "TLC" department.  All these plants needed ... a home and a little TLC.  The cost was between 25 cents and one dollar.

Rose of Sharon is from a girlfriend's backyard at no cost.  Just friendship.  Planted last fall and see what summer of 2011 displays.
