Have you ever thought about what life would be like without the winter season?
No boots...love my boots
I must admit I love the cold weather and a snow day, but I don't like being confined to the house. On the flip side, I have the opportunity to organize, donate and purge. I call it winter cleaning or should I say having the winter spirit.
Here in NC, one week can be below or at freezing temps and the following week may be a few spring like days.
My take of winter starts with color
white
then
silver
then
shades of blue.
and
I love simplicity and clean lines... that's winter beauty .
Just imagine what's missing without the winter season!
longer nights which can mean more family time/activities and/or enjoying your coffee indoor
a soothing retreat with a fireplace
Enjoy the remaining days of winter
and thanks for spending time at the Houz.

We rarely get accumulated snow in GA, but it always looks so pretty. I always hated driving in it when I lived in NJ though.
ReplyDeleteI can relate. Lived in Buffalo NY with long winters.
DeleteI love warm temps. I enjoy some of the fashion accessories of the winter, and certainly the snow can look beautiful, assuming I don't have to go out in it! Though really I'd take summer over winter any day!
ReplyDeleteI would rather be in a warm place, and not have it snow.. But living in NY most of my life, i have grown the deal with it.
ReplyDeleteI do not have the winter blues, as I live in Florida, and it's pretty gorgeous here right now! But I LOVE the pics you posted!
ReplyDeleteWinter is awesome because of all the reasons you named; warm snuggly blankets, family time, the fireplace....my goodness I'm feeling all romantic now. We live in Ga. so our winter's are not particularly bad here. We rarely get snow and when we do, the whole thing is over in 24 hours. Let's talk again about weather when the heat index exceeds 100.
ReplyDeleteIn Southern California, this is not my winter reality, but it sure is a nice dream. When it gets really cold here, I do love snuggling up by the fire with a good book or cuddle-buddy. This would make for a great weekend retreat. :)

Life With Lorelai
I love winters beauty! But the long dark days do wear on me after a while. But you know what! it jut makes me appreciate Spring and Summer all the more!
ReplyDeleteI dislike snow and the cold that comes with winter! Give me a Western WA winter or a Southern California winter and I'd be a much happier person!
ReplyDeleteI love winter. I would rather be cold than hot. I also love seeing the snow, the winter holidays and all that comes with it. without the winter, we'd be so boring! Going through winter makes you appreciate the spring and summer even more!
ReplyDeleteI’m a fall/winter girl! The smells, the cool – crisp air, the colors, fires in the fireplace and outside… I could go on and on and on.
ReplyDeleteThough I'm not really a fan of winter, I still appreciate the beauty of it hehe :-) But I have no choice but to be deal with it, since I'm in Canada.
ReplyDeleteWinter is beautiful, I agree. But I still don't like the cold and prefer not to have it. I really love my no-winter-at-all year :)
ReplyDeleteOhh, I agree about my boots! I always get a little giddy in the fall when I can pull them back out!
ReplyDeleteI live in ski country Colorado. Life would be bad without winters.
ReplyDeleteLove this. I too like winters, and we gets lots of it. So, I am glad I like it, but it also is nice to read a post from someone else who liks winter!
ReplyDeleteWow! I can't imagine what everyone else goes through. I'm going to make you jealous now cause we live at the beach in Southern California and we've been hearing about the bad weather everywhere else. I would love to see snow every now and then but not sure I could live in it.
ReplyDeleteLove the decor on all of these pics, looks very relaxing and confortable
ReplyDeleteI got the winter spirit. I just wish we had more snow to go with the cold :)
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that we have different seasons in NY but winter is my least favorite. The cold can be brutal, and all that fog and wet and cold makes me want to disappear for a long vacation somewhere sunny.

While I love boots, there is nothing that can make me love winter. I am just not a cold weather girl and I hide all winter
ReplyDeleteWe don't ever get snow down here in Texas but I love these ideas! I love all of the color schemes in the pictures! I think these could also transition into spring.
ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful shades of blue!
